Uses of sodium molybdate:

1. Used for preparing molybdenum salt, dye, pigment, catalyst, corrosion inhibitor, etc.

2. Used as metal corrosion inhibitor, scale remover, bleaching promoter and skin and hair protector.

3. It is used as analytical reagent in alkaloid determination, dyestuff and pharmaceutical industry.

4. It is used as precipitant, catalyst and molybdenum salt for alkaloid, ink, chemical fertilizer, molybdenum red pigment and light-resistant pigment. It can also be used as flame retardant and metal inhibitor for pollution-free cold water system. It can also be used as zinc plating, polishing agent and chemical reagent.

5. Molybdate belongs to the type of anodic oxidation film inhibitor, which forms ferrous high iron molybdenum oxide passivation film on the anode iron and plays the role of corrosion inhibition.
